At Home in Rome

Our apartment (Via del Pellegrino 75) has turned out to be perfect for our first trip to Rome. Like many apartment buildings here, there is graffiti on the outer door (see The Italian Lesson post) but the entry is inviting. We are on the fourth floor (really the fifth floor in the U.S. since Europeans begin with 0, the ground floor) and our unit is in the back, so it is quiet in spite of being in a busy part of the city. Lots of windows, views of rooftops. Church bells until 10 p.m. Seagulls around the clock. Within twenty minutes walk of the Vatican and the Colosseum. We must stay until next summer to try all the nearby restaurants and bars. See you then!
