A stop at the Fuente del Vino allows a weary Pilgrims to fortify himself for the journey ahead.
This one-of-a-kind wine fountain is found at the Bodegas Irache, just outside the town of Estrella.
I need to find that one:) We leave Thursday for Spain!!!
You must be excited! Buen Camino!
We sure are. this is our first time going. We still have not decided where we will start, either St Jean or Pamplona. Waiting to see what the weather is doing closer to our departure. Love reading your posts and the pictures. thanks so much!!!!
Weather has been great this week. We heard the upper route from St. Jean opened (i think) last Saturday…a couple days too late for us. However, we have had no regrets about leaving from Pamplona.
That fountain is very cool! Loving your posts and pictures.
Thanks, Bonnie. We just finished day six and are ready for some cervezas! I am sitting in a room with people from so many different countries that I have lost track. But, the Camino brings us together.
Can you bring a wine fountain home to us?
I can’t guarantee it, Dennis and Carolyn, but I sure will think of you whIle I am drinking it here!
Hello Sue and Reg,
You don’t know me but I completed the Camino last year from St Jean to Santiago.
I wrote my own blog during that time so now following yours to relive the great time I had last year.
Such a wonderful Journey to take and you will meet many friends on the way. Buen Camino
Thanks for writing. We will check out your blog.
Yes, we love our Merrill shoes. We had a bit of a detour today…Sue has an infection from a toe blister, but hope to resume our trek soon.
You are so right about meeting great people on the Camino!
Our best, Reg and Sue
