Camino in France – Le Puy Surprise

The Parisians we spoke with seemed to have no idea where Le Puy was so Reg and I figured our mental picture of a large village tucked away in a rural landscape was spot-on. Once again, how wrong we were!

We stepped off the train and into a bustling, vibrant city with a charming historical district. Perfect for a couple days of wandering.

Statue Our Lady of France

Intrigued by the view out our window of Statue Our Lady of France, we hiked up, up, up, to check her out Saturday morning. Tickets to climb the interior circular staircase were too hard to resist, so up, up, up we went some more.

Tomorrow morning (Sunday) we say goodbye to Le Puy and we walk.

The Camino shell marks the route along the sidewalk through Le Puy.
