Day 9 – Saint Chély to Saint-Côme-d’Olt
I woke up early this morning and checked the time – 4:00 A.M. Something was circling above our bed…a bird? The light went on to get a better look. No, not a bird…it was a bat! Eek! I dove under the covers while Reg waved his shorts in an effort to guide it out our open window.
After much commotion, he trapped it in the bathroom where the light caused it to perch on a towel. Reg bravely gathered it up, towel and all, deposited it on the window ledge and quickly shut the window. Quite a start to our day!
The Hotel Couvant de Malet sits above Saint-Côme and is our home for the night. Our room is spartan, but comfortable. Dinner and breakfast are both provided as well as a church service and outdoor program.
Looking at all these boots, I suspect there will be a mad dash for our 7:00 A.M. breakfast tomorrow morning. Only the strong survive a crowded French breakfast room!
