Our first two nights in Wisconsin were spent at Merrick State Park. Located along the Mississippi River, the park offers 65 campsites, most of which were partially submerged due to the overflowing water levels. We were relieved to discover we had made the high and dry campsite choice at the north end of the park.

Without a boat and fishing pole, there isn’t much to draw campers to this park other than a healthy dose of peace and quiet. Only a handful of sites were occupied, a dramatic difference from our Oregon Coast State Parks.
Reg had spent several days furiously trying to keep a trailer tire pumped up, finally admitting we had a slow leak. Before zipping along the Interstate, we stopped to have it checked.

The good folks at Fountain City Auto LLC dropped everything and quickly discovered our problem. Plugged and inflated we were safely on the road to our next stop.
See you soon at Rocky Arbor State Park.
