Continuous Travelers Hit The Road

With so few fellow campers this last week, Emigrant Lake has felt (almost)
like our own private campground.

With the exception of our two camp hosts, we’ve outlasted every other camper who has pulled in for a night…or two…or three at Emigrant Lake. While our 2-week stay has far exceeded our expectations, we are now in danger of overstaying our welcome. With our brand new driver licenses tucked safely in our wallets, the time has come to hit the road.

This morning we will hitch up the trailer, pack up our memories and aim for the Pacific Coast. We’re holding out hope for hiking a bit in California’s Jedidiah Smith Redwoods State Park, but the weather reports are looking pretty soggy. We might get wet.
From there we’ll head down to Humboldt County for a visit with friends from our old Garberville days. Even in the pouring rain, the beauty of that stretch of Northern California is impossible to beat.

    1. Yes, at long last! A bit anticlimactic after the 4-week stall, but off we go. We took our last stroll through downtown and Lithia Park yesterday. Definitely will miss all that Southern Oregon has given us.

    1. Thanks Alex. This has been Reg’s dream for many years. Doubt we’ll be full time for too long, but for now our trailer is home.
