A desolate, but stunning landscape

We climbed over our first ridge today and dropped down and around this pretty little loch.

The scenery was spectacular as we hiked deeper into the highlands.

It's difficult to capture the expansive beauty of the highlands. The views go on as far as the eye can see without a spec of civilization in sight.

Because there are no services out this way, our hotel packed a lunch for us and we ate trail side. We made good time today, arriving at Kingshouse Hotel before 3:00 this afternoon…early for us.

Imagine the stories this old hotel could tell.
