Camino in France – It’s Easy to feel Groovy…

Day 16 – Decazeville to Figeac

Cool morning temperatures, an early start and a relatively flat trail combined to create a pleasant day.

After several days of slow and careful steps, Reg announced today that he felt “back in the groove” of walking. While this is good news, I couldn’t resist poking a little fun at him. “It’s easy to feel groovy when the trail is flat!

Day 17 – Figeac to Beduer

Fields create ribbons of color
across the landscape.

With the exception of the 500 foot climb first thing this morning, today was an easy day…just 7 miles of gentle walking. Plenty of time to enjoy the day.

We reached Beduer early and stopped in the local cafe/bar for a cold drink. We were too late for food, but snacks were available from this unique vending machine.

For €2.00 this vending machine will dispense your choice of goodies. I would have tried it, but I didn’t want to spoil my dinner.

Day 18 – Beduer to Cajarc

Today’s trail was dotted with small round, dry-stone constructed buildings called caselles. The little information I found and was able to translate described them as “peasant cabins,” dating from the 18th-19th century. They offered seasonal shelter and storage for farm supplies.

We’ve noticed a chill in the morning air, but the afternoons are still heating up. Tomorrow (Thursday) is warning of rain, as is the next day. We are raincoat-ready…I think.

Cajarc appears as another storybook village.

    1. Mornings have been wonderfully cool. Until today, afternoons have heated up. Today, gray skies threatened rain, but clouds skirted around us! Whew!
