Tricks and Treats in Chico

For me, it has always been a treat to visit Chico where I spent my college years. When our son Brad decided to attend school there, I was thrilled to have a reason to make an occasional weekend trip to what I consider the quintessential college town. Many Chico State grads dream of living there forever. The trick is finding a job that allows them the opportunity to do so. Brad is one of the lucky ones.

Sierra Nevada Brewing Company, the second largest craft brewery in the United States, was founded in Chico in 1979. Reg and I have learned a lot about the company since Brad began working there and it's all good. Brad loves his job and we are able to continue to make an occasional weekend jaunt to visit him in one of my favorite towns.

With close to 20 beers on tap, it's fun to dine at the Sierra Nevada Taproom and Restaurant.

The Saturday Market is a popular downtown event.

Brad took us to the haunted corn maze Saturday night. We met all kinds of frightening folks as we wondered through the 10-acre maze.

Downtown was quiet Sunday morning. After breakfast we said our goodbyes and headed home.
