Our steps took us along several large Tuscan villas Sunday. Sue liked this one best. Plenty of room for family and friends, plus a place she could play tennis!

This is a quiet trail (we saw just five trekkers Sunday), but there is obviously interest in the Way of St. Francis, based on the record numbers (from many nations) viewing our posts. Will this be the Camino de Santiago of the future? If you have questions, feel free to ask through the comments at the bottom of the page.     Hi Debbie!
    Beautiful blue skies here, but a bit warm in the afternoon (80 or so). Everyone says it feels like July in April. The trail is varied…a decent amount of blacktop, including farm country roads and some busy city walking into Sansepulcro yesterday. Some hard pack, wide gravel parhways. Some very rocky parts. A few very steep ups and downs. Some treacherous parts. The Camino has all of these as well, but overall this is much more difficult than the Camino. Biggest difference, though, is the lack of fellow trekkers here.

    Nice photos in a beautiful part of the world. we’re staying down near Umbertide currently and the weather has been lovely for the past week after a miserable March.

    It sure is, but perhaps a bit warm for trekking with a backpack. Umbria is fabulous!
