Adventures In Great Britain-History

We’ve been in historic York, England for the week, sleeping in (me) while Reg rises early and waits to make our morning coffee. To orient ourselves we opted for the 2-mile City Wall Walk on our first full day. The Micklegate Bar, just down the street from our apartment, was a convenient starting point.

Micklegate Bar leads through the old city walls into York’s historic city center.

The walls are said to be the longest medieval town walls in England. There were a few gaps that required street walking, but for the most part we followed the wall, ending where we started – at the Micklegate Bar.

    1. We’ve managed to easily fill our days. Lots to see and do. I love the pedestrian only city center.

    1. Cobblestone streets are tough on the ankles though.
