We’re coming up on five months of trailer living, easily topping our former 3-month record that took us from Oregon to Canada’s Newfoundland and back two years ago.
Because our current trip finds us with no home to return to, you might wonder how are we adjusting? Or are we? Have the walls been closing in on us? Are we constantly bumping into each other? Does our 26-foot home on wheels have the space we need to be comfortable?

I recently opened our dinner conversation with a question for Reg.
”What has been your biggest surprise since selling the house and leaving Ashland?
He thought for a minute. “The time we spent in Fort Bragg before leaving California. I was surprised at how much there was to do and I loved biking with the group there. Here in Tucson, I loved that we were so quick to find a small, fun social group.”
It isn’t a surprise that Reg has no complaints. He loves our trailer and the lifestyle it affords us.

Kris and Mark (L) and Teri and Dave (C).
Together with these friends we struggled through the KOA-sponsored trivia nights, rolled the dice at the LCR game table and toasted the Friday evening wine-down around the fireplace. Through it all, we laughed together, told stories and never ran out of things to talk about. Great memories one and all!

its time for us to pack up and prepare for our eastward journey.
We’ve loved our two-month stay in Southern Tucson, but it is time to move on. As we head east, we’re excited to see what new surprises (all good we hope) lie ahead.
As for me, the biggest surprise so far is how easy this transition has been.
