Ashland is officially home, sweet home!

The bamboo floors were the last piece of the renovation project. West Highland Way fans may note the photograph of Buachaille Etive Mor above the couch.

Time to celebrate with a barbecue on the front deck!

Four months after moving to Ashland, Oregon, our home here is complete, thanks to excellent work by kitchen and flooring experts. It was challenging to live in the mess and without a kitchen, but we got lots of exercise going down and up the stairs whenever we needed food from the fridge.

There are two bedrooms, a garage and a bathroom downstairs. The master, a bathroom and a half bath are on the same floor as the living area.

The best part: Downtown Ashland is just a 10-minute walk.

We miss (not really) going downstairs to the old fridge in the garage and doing dishes in the laundry room during the kitchen project.

Thank you, Cathy and Greg. I think you would enjoy this town…perhaps we should have a traveling bunco/poker trip!

  2. Leah

Wahoo! It looks so gorgeous. I can’t wait to see it in person. Congratulations on your new home!

    HI Sue and Reg;

Your new, renovated home looks beautiful! So nice! I’m happy for you and glad you guys like Ashland. Enjoy your visit with Kathy and Barb!

Thank you, Nancy. Not sure we want to ever go through another kitchen renovation, but we are happy with the result.
We hope that the weather cooperates for their visit.

Thank you, Carolyn! We have several things from our travels. The photo above the couch is a scene from our Scotland trek…we ordered it from a Scottish photographer after we got home. We sometimes buy small prints that we can fit in our packs and frame them when we get home. We have coffee in the living room. We watch the sun rise over the mountains out the front sliding door.
I think you would like Ashland…we would love for you to visit. The airport is just 15 minutes away…just two flights from Santa Barbara. We have room for a friend or two also.

Beautiful floors, wonderful foliage. It’s all great! So glad it’s finished.

In the midst of the project, we thought it would never end. It sure makes us appreciate simple things like a fridge on the same floor as the stove! Thanks, Cynthia!

  9. Carole & Beaton

Glencoe spotted immediately! Your new hoosie looks superb – you obviously have been busy between cultural adventuring!! Love it!
We both wish you every happiness there.

Thank you, Carole and Beaton! The simple things, like making a pot of coffee in the kitchen without going downstairs to get water and to the garage to get cream, are actually fun now. I know you went through a lot in your renovation as well. Worth it, though, eh!?

  10. Bonnie and Mike

Your new home is beautiful, and it sounds like you are enjoying every minute in Ashland!

Thank you, Bonnie and Mike. I may have to come to poker sometime to win the money to pay for all this, though! 🙂

    Looks beautiful!
